Matty Matheson is ruling social algorithms, online shopping carts, and grocery store shelves from the comfort of his own [studio] kitchen.
Happy 2024, everyone!
(Iām deeming today the final day to say āHappy New Yearā or anything of the sort, so get it out of your system before itās too late.)
I hope you had a great break from reality ā Christmas, followed by that weird week where you just eat a bunch of cookies & cheese, and then, of course, the new year.
Personally, I had a great break! A couple of Christmas parties, some extra sleep, plenty of college football, a wedding, and the highlight (you know other than the fine quality time with family)ā¦ a smash burger from my absolute favorite restaurant in Baltimore! Thank you, Dylan!
That burger, and a slew of Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube videos inspired the below ā an intro/overview of Matty Mathesonās world takeover. I donāt think itās going to be news to anyone but Matheson is firmly on the āINā list for 2024.
Enjoy the read, click around, and make a cheeseburger soup or something!
Feel free to reply with any thoughts or comments. And, if you really really liked it, consider sharing it with a friend!? š
Have a great Friday!

THE CULINARY ARTS
Matty Matheson: Canadian Chef, Designer, 2x New York Times Best-Selling Author andā¦ Actor?
A burger-loving, Carhartt-wearing, tattoo-clad chef from Canada is taking over the world.
Matty Matheson is a self-proclaimed āfat, sweaty dude covered in tattoosā, but, to the rest of the world, heās best known for his big, charismatic personality. Heās the guy everyone wants to hang out with. He has his hands in everything from pizza dough to Huluās hit show, The Bear.
Growing up in Canada, Matheson spent summers in his grandfatherās restaurant, The Blue Goose. Hmmm, wonder where the whole chef/entrepreneur inspiration came from... š¤
At 18, he enrolled in a culinary program, discovered he had some finesse around the kitchen, and promptly dropped out for a life on the road with a friendās metal band. š„
Eventually, his charismatic personality and a couple years of real world restaurant experience landed Matheson a series of āHow Toā videos on the YouTube channel Munchies with recipes such as the āGuaranteed To Get You Laidā Lasagna. Itās on YouTube that his personality, āno bullsh*tā attitude, and down-to-earth food shined for the masses.
Matheson doubled down on YouTube with appearances and hosting gigs on shows like Keep it Canada (Munchies), The Burger Show (First We Feast), and his own shows Just a Dash, Matty & Benny Eat Out America, and Cookinā Somethinā.
Heās accumulated 1.31M subscribers on YouTube, 1.4M followers on Instagram, and 643.1K on TikTok. His online success has helped fuel (and vice versa) the serial entrepreneurās restaurant ventures, includingā¦
In homage to his grandfather and the summers spent in The Blue Goose restaurant, Matheson and Keenan McVey (another Canadian chef) opened Blue Goose Farm in Ontario. The farm supplies veggies to many of Mathesonās restaurants.
Somehow Matheson and his team have also found the time to write two New York Times best-selling cookbooks and launch products for his new workwear brand, sauce company, a cookware line, and so much more.

Note from Sam: Holy h*ll am I excited for some sauces! Hoping these make their way to the USA sooner than later. DTC, please! š¤š»
And, it still doesnāt end thereā¦ In 2022, Canadaās most recognizable chef made the jump from culinary cult-following to streaming when he joined Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach on Huluās The Bear. Matheson is credited as an Executive Producer, On-Set Culinary Consultant, and Neil Fak ā friend of Jeremy Allen Whiteās character, as well as the āmechanicā at The Original Beef.

Matheson is white hot right now, and is shipping product and content at light speed. Heāll continue to trend as his genuine good guy personality shines through on a growing scale.
